Our Vision

But today, many donors lack insight into what their contributions actually achieve, while changemakers and nonprofits struggle to access funding. We’re building the infrastructure for a new kind of giving: radically transparent, community-driven, and open to everyone.

Why I started OpenCharities
In 2020, my mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s at just 56. The years that followed deeply changed me. As her condition progressed and she moved to a nursing home in 2024, I felt an overwhelming drive to contribute something meaningful.
With my background in blockchain and banking, I first envisioned a community-driven charity for dementia, where donations were transparently managed and impactful ideas from the community could receive support.
But as I explored this concept, I realized the model had far broader potential. By turning its core elements into a scalable platform, OpenCharities was born: a way to connect donors, charities, businesses, and changemakers in one transparent, impactful, and community-driven ecosystem.
